125kHz RFID readers compatibility with HID prox cards

Customer:

I have HID prox cards (125 kHz cards) I would like to read. I purchased a 125kHz RFID tag reader board, SKU:333273. It could not read the card. Can you tell me if I should be able to read it with this board? I also see you have a RDM6300 RFID 125kHz reader, SKU:101835. Is there any difference between the read capabilities of these two boards?

Soldered Support:

HID prox cards operate with proprietary technology and protocols. The 125kHz RFID tag reader board (SKU:333273) and RDM6300 RFID 125kHz reader (SKU:101835) both read the standard RFID protocol, so they may not be compatible with HID prox cards. I’d recommend testing with any generic RFID reader you can find - if it works with that, it will likely work with either of these boards too.
