433MHz remote: can it copy codes from existing remotes

Customer:

I’m interested in purchasing remote controllers and possibly one of your programmers. I acquired an Arduino from elsewhere and can’t find the right library—all my inputs and outputs are mixed up.

Before buying, I’d like to know how these remote controllers are programmed. Is it possible to transfer a button from my existing remote—say, for opening the garage door—to one of your remotes, and set a different button for opening an external gate, so I don’t need two separate remotes?

To make sure we’re discussing the same product: the 433MHz 4-channel remote controller works with a receiver that connects to a microcontroller like a Dasduino or Arduino. The microcontroller runs code using the appropriate library for that receiver, then responds to presses of buttons A, B, C, or D.

While I haven’t tested it personally, if you had two receivers (each with its own Arduino—one in the garage, one at the gate) and programmed one to respond to button “A” and the other to button “D”, you could use a single remote.

Here’s a useful tutorial on how to use this receiver: https://mechatrofice.com/arduino/rf-remote-controller-using-arduino-and-ask-module

Thank you for the response. My garage receiver was an original purchase and I don’t think I’d be able to reprogram it to capture one of these buttons. I know some remotes like this have the ability to copy codes from other remotes. I’m assuming that means I wouldn’t be able to do that with yours?

Here’s a short video showing that code-copying feature at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-k_XvkZ0jE

Could you just find out if your remote has that capability?

Now I understand your question completely. We do offer this remote controller: https://soldered.com/hr/proizvod/433mhz-4-kanalni-daljinski-upravljac/ which has that capability, as shown in the video. I’ve verified it.
