Arduino Mega 2560 može upravljati složenijim procesima, a uz veću količinu memorije u odnosu na Atmega 328 ima i veći broj pinova. Kada se što izvodi određujete logikom koju implementirate u kodu, a da se više stvari izvede u isto vrijeme potrebno je dobro organizirati i napisati kod. Dakle za upotrebu kakvu ste opisali je moguće koristiti navedeni mikrokontroler samo treba dobro napisati kod. U industriji se više koristi PLC jer su prilagođeni industrijskom standardu, ali postoje i rješenja PLC-a s mikrokontrolerima poput Atmega 2560.
