Bluetooth module disables serial port communication with Arduino

Customer:

I’m building a final year project: a system for monitoring and managing sensor values in a workspace, based on an Arduino board and a C# database. I bought several sensors from you including a Bluetooth module, and I’m having a problem with it. When I set up the connection between my laptop and Arduino, I try to print the sensor readings (DHT11, MQ135, sound detector) to the serial monitor, but I get an error that the serial port COM 7 where the Arduino is connected is not available. When I connect the Arduino and laptop with just the cable, everything works normally.

Soldered Support:

I assume your Bluetooth module is connected to pins 0 and 1. Those pins are used for serial communication between the computer and microcontroller, so they’re not available if you’re already using the module there.

I recommend you look up Software Serial for Arduino.
