Croduino NOVA32 upload fails with "Timed out waiting for packet header"

Customer:

I purchased several Croduino NOVA32 boards, but I have the same problem with all of them. When I try to upload code to any of them I get the following stack trace:

esptool.py v2.6
Serial port /dev/ttyUSB0
Connecting....
Chip is ESP32D0WDQ5 (revision 1)
Features: WiFi, BT, Dual Core, 240MHz, VRef calibration in efuse, Coding Scheme None
MAC: 98:f4:ab:1d:9d:70
Uploading stub...
Running stub...
Stub running...
Changing baud rate to 921600
Changed.
Configuring flash size...
A fatal error occurred: Timed out waiting for packet header
A fatal error occurred: Timed out waiting for packet header

The same problem occurs on both computers where I tested it.

For the board I set ESP32 Dev Module, as mentioned in the answer to someone’s question on the product page, and didn’t change anything else.

OS: Ubuntu 18.04
Arduino IDE: 1.8.12

Can you send us a screenshot of the Tools menu from Arduino IDE?

Original message (Croatian)

možete li nam poslati screenshot Tools izbornika iz Arduino IDE?

Customer:

Here’s a screenshot. Also, are pins 21 and 22 SDA and SCL for I2C like they are on the generic ESP32?

Original message (Croatian)

evo screensohta.

Soldered Support:

Everything looks OK. The drivers should be on Linux by default. I assume the port /dev/ttyUSB0 doesn’t exist when the board is not connected?

The I2C pins on ESP32 are 21 and 22, just like on the generic ESP32.

If nothing has helped in the meantime, I suggest we replace the board. Here are the instructions: Soldered: Open-Source Electronics, Boards, Sensors & Modules – Soldered Electronics

Sve izgleda OK.
