Dasduino ConnectPlus Bluetooth example causes Guru Meditation Error and brownout resets

Customer:

When I load the basic classic Bluetooth example on the Dasduino ConnectPlus, the serial monitor shows repeated crashes:

Brownout detector was triggered

The board is only connected via USB to the laptop with no other connections. The sketch being used is:

#include "BluetoothSerial.h"

#if !defined(CONFIG_BT_ENABLED) || !defined(CONFIG_BLUEDROID_ENABLED)
#error Bluetooth is not enabled! Please run `make menuconfig` to and enable it
#endif

BluetoothSerial SerialBT;

void setup() {
  Serial.begin(115200);
  SerialBT.begin("ESP32test"); //Bluetooth device name
  Serial.println("The device started, now you can pair it with bluetooth!");
}

void loop() {
  if (Serial.available()) {
    SerialBT.write(Serial.read());
  }
  if (SerialBT.available()) {
    Serial.write(SerialBT.read());
  }
  delay(20);
}

Is there a known issue or do you have a working library and example?

Soldered Support:

Install the official ESP32 board definition from Installing - - — Arduino ESP32 latest documentation and then run the same example. We currently have issues with our board definition and will resolve them soon.

Original message (Croatian)

U prilogu Vam šaljem slike postavki i primjera kojega sam testirao da radi.

Customer:

I installed the official board definition but the upload throws an error (see attachment).

Original message (Croatian)

Soldered Support:

Does this error happen every time at the same place? Have you tried running the code multiple times?

Original message (Croatian)

Customer:

Yes, multiple times, always the same error at the same place, on Linux. Actually, it works for me on Windows 10, so that’s OK. Will easyC work with the esp32-wrover module? Are there any differences or limitations compared to your board definition?

Original message (Croatian)

Soldered Support:

Yes, easyC will work normally without any limitations. We use it for I2C communication so you don’t need to connect 4 wires individually but can use a single easyC connector instead. You can read more about easyC at Soldered: Open-Source Electronics, Boards, Sensors & Modules – Soldered Electronics.

Original message (Croatian)

Customer:

OK, great, so I can work with the official board definition. But I’m curious what the difference is compared to your board definition? And when can this be expected to be fixed?

Original message (Croatian)

Soldered Support:

The difference is in different examples, and we maintain and fix our board definition regularly, as you’ve now experienced with the Bluetooth issue. Our goal is to fix this in the coming months.

Original message (Croatian)
