Dasduino CORE upload fails with 'Property upload.tool.serial is undefined'

Customer:

When attempting to upload a sketch from the Arduino IDE to a Dasduino CORE board, I get the error: Property ‘upload.tool.serial’ is undefined. I have followed all instructions on the product page and installed the Arduino IDE Board definition. I have also tried with different Arduino IDE versions (1.8.18, 2.0.3, 2.3.2), and the same error appears in all of them.

Prilikom pokušaja upload-a skice iz Arduino IDE sučelja na pločicu Dasduino CORE javlja se sljedeća greška: Property ‘upload.tool.serial’ is undefined. Sljedio sam sve upute na vašoj stranici i instalirao Arduino IDE Board definition. Također, pokušao sam sa različitim verzijama Arduino IDE sučelja (1.8.18, 2.0.3, 2.3.2). U Svim verzijama sučelja javlja mi se ista greška.

Soldered Support:

This should work in version 1.8 (I have seen this exact error appear on some machines in 2.0).

Obvious question but have you selected the board definition in the Tools menu after installation?

Sometimes this kind of problem can be resolved by reinstalling the board definition and clearing the cache:

  1. Close Arduino IDE. Before making any changes, close Arduino IDE to avoid potential issues with files that are currently in use.

  2. Find the Arduino15 folder. The location of the Arduino15 folder depends on your operating system:

    • Windows: C:\Users[user]\AppData\Local\Arduino15
    • MacOS: /Users/[username]/Library/Arduino15
    • Linux: /home/[username]/.arduino15
  3. Open the Arduino15 folder. Navigate to the appropriate folder using File Explorer (Windows), Finder (MacOS), or terminal (Linux).

  4. Delete board definitions. In the Arduino15 folder you will find folders containing board definitions. Typically these are folders such as packages, staging, and hardware.

    • packages contains all board definitions downloaded through Boards Manager.
    • staging contains temporary download files.
    • hardware may contain manually installed board definitions.
You can delete the entire contents of the packages and staging folders, as well as specific board definitions within the hardware folder if you know which ones you want to remove.
  5. Delete Arduino cache. The Arduino cache is also located in the Arduino15 folder, often in the form of temporary files and folders. You can delete the entire contents of the cache folder within Arduino15:

    • cache contains temporary files that Arduino uses to speed up recompilation and other tasks.
  6. Restart Arduino IDE. After you have deleted the necessary files and folders, restart Arduino IDE. The IDE will re-download the board definitions you need when you request them through Boards Manager.

Try this and report back if it works after reinstalling (but definitely try on Arduino 1.8).

  2. Pronađi Arduino15 folder Lokacija Arduino15 foldera ovisi o operacijskom sustavu:
    Windows:C:\Users\ \AppData\Local\Arduino15 MacOS:/Users/ /Library/Arduino15 Linux:/home/ /.arduino15 Zamijeni svojim stvarnim korisničkim imenom.
  3. Otvori Arduino15 folder Navigiraj do odgovarajuće mape pomoću File Explorera (Windows), Finder-a (MacOS), ili terminala (Linux).
  5. Obrisi Arduino cache Arduino cache se također nalazi u Arduino15 folderu, često u obliku privremenih datoteka i mapa.
Možeš obrisati cijeli sadržaj cache mape unutar Arduino15:
cache sadrži privremene datoteke koje Arduino koristi za ubrzanje ponovnog kompiliranja i drugih zadataka. 6.
