Customer:
I received the Color and gesture sensor APDS-9960 breakout and Li-ion charger BQ24295 with 5V USB output board. I’m looking for documentation on these products as I can’t find them on the website. Specifically, I’d like to know what the jumpers and LEDs do without having to probe the boards and work through the chip datasheets.

For the APDS-9960:
The only jumper you might want to modify is JP3, which connects the proximity LED to the board. Cutting it prevents current draw when the VLED pin is not in use. The other jumpers are I2C pullups and voltage regulator settings that don’t need to be modified for regular usage.
For the Li-ion Charger BQ24295:
Jumper breakdown:
- JP1 and JP3: I2C pullups
- JP6: Enable/disable the power LED
- JP4 and JP5: Select input current – JP4 (max 3A, connected by default) or JP5 (max 0.5A)
- JP2: Used only if you’re using a negative temperature coefficient thermistor for temperature monitoring. Cut JP2 if using the thermistor; otherwise leave it connected.
- D1: LED indicating battery charging status
