I’m completing the development of V3.0.0 of the EPub-InkPlate e-reader application for the Inkplate devices. Many enhancements have been done to the application. I invite everyone interested to look at the README.md page of the GitHub project that you can find here. Also, a small video shows some of the new features (in particular, Bluetooth support to use a mini keypad for interacting with the e-reader) on YouTube.
The current release is marked as V3.0.0-BETA. If no body raise an issue with it, I will release the FINAL version in a week or so.
I personally love this project. There’s an incredible amount of work invested in it. You basically get the working e-book reader that you can customize!
Ahead of the scheduled October timeframe release, the user interface menu icons have been refreshed. Consequently, the drawings.otf font file has been updated. Please download the latest version here: EPub-InkPlate/SDCard/fonts/drawings.otf at master · turgu1/EPub-InkPlate · GitHub and replace the existing file in your SDCard’s fonts folder if you desire.

I’m planning to have a next release (V3.1.0) by October time-frame. Here are the added functionalities I pretend that will be added to the EPub-InkPlate:
Bookmarks
Library management (books selection to be removed, bookmarks management)
Per book and global usage statistics and management
OPDS (Open Publication Distribution System) support for Calibre access
The extent of the functionalities will depend on the available memory to implement these functionalities.
I’m also looking at the potential of getting a back-end (ESP-EDF-InkPlate) more open to have the application able to be migrated to other devices. I’m using the M5PaperS3 as a guinea-pig to test the openness of such transformation and adjust the back-end accordingly.
