Ethernet Shield W5100 ICSP pin connections on Croduino

Customer:

The Ethernet Shield W5100 description states it doesn’t work directly on Croduino via Arduino adapter because SPI communication uses the ICSP connector, not the side pins. What does this mean and how do I connect it to Croduino? Which pins do I use?

I’ve connected it via the “Croduino Basic2 To Arduino Adapter” and when testing the “webserver” example, it always shows myIP 0.0.0.0

Spojen preko adaptera “Croduino Basic2 Na Arduino Adapter” a prilikom testiranja exaplea “webserver” uvijek mi javlja myIP 0.0.0.0 ???

Soldered Support:

The shield is designed so that the ICSP connector on the shield must be connected to the SPI pins of the controller.

If I understand correctly, from the Ethernet shield’s ICSP connector:

1 (MISO) goes to D12 on Croduino

3 (SCK) to D13

4 (MOSI) to D11

What about VTG, RST and GND (the other ICSP connectors)?

Does this then connect without the adapter? When everything is connected together—Croduino Basic2, adapter and Ethernet shield—half of the ICSP connector is covered by the adapter.

Do I need to connect anything else besides the ICSP if I don’t use the adapter?

Sorry if these are silly questions, I’m new to this

a VTG,RST i GND (ostali ICSP konektori) ?

Soldered Support:

RST depends on your code—check what the example you’re using specifies. Usually it’s D10.

You can leave the shield on the Croduino. If you remove it from the Croduino, connect the power separately. Those are the two remaining pins: GND to GND and VTG (VCC) to +5V.

Original message (Croatian)
