Customer:
I’ve received several HX711 Breakouts and the information sheet indicates the sample rate is adjustable. How can I switch from 10 SPS to 80 SPS?

Can you point us to where you found this information? We checked our documentation at Hx711 - Overview | Soldered Documentation and the Arduino library but haven’t found mention of sample rate adjustment. It might be possible via the registers and the driver/library. Can you share your source so we can look into writing a function for this if it’s feasible?
Customer:
Most HX711 breakout boards have some method of changing the sample rate. Some have a solder bridge, some have a printed circuit bridge that can be broken and re-soldered, and some require desoldering the RATE pin from the board (usually grounded by default) then bridging pin15 to pin16 to drive it high for 80 samples per second. It would be great to do this on the fly with registers as you suggest, but I haven’t found that in the documentation I have so far. If you have a way to do that, I’d be very interested.
Customer:
Desoldering pin15 and connecting to pin16 works, but I understand the issues with doing that. Routing to a GPIO is the better approach. For future versions, it would be helpful to provide an onboard choice for sample rate and pin or pad access to make installing an external oscillator to those HX711 pins easier.

That’s valid feedback and much appreciated. We’ve brought this up with the hardware team and it will be kept in mind for a future revision.
