I2C LCD adapter 20x4 display shows only first two rows

Customer:

I installed your library for the I2C LCD adapter and connected it to your 20×4 LCD, but only the first two rows work.

How do I enable all 4 rows?

Original message (Croatian)

Kako upogoniti sva 4 reda?

Hvala !

Just to be sure, can you confirm this is the library in question: GitHub - SolderedElectronics/Soldered-LCD-Library · GitHub

And you’re using the library with the I2C LCD adapter and 20x4 display.

Have you tried uploading the Hello World 20x4 example? Maybe in the LCD declaration you didn’t set it to 4 rows: Soldered-LCD-Library/examples/Hello_World_20x4/Hello_World_20x4.ino at 481a92e907361ac8e543360a94a648f6689c0b3c · SolderedElectronics/Soldered-LCD-Library · GitHub

I koristiš library s I2C LCD adapterom i 20x4 displayom:

Jesi li probao uploadati baš example Hello World 20x4? Možda u deklaraciji LCD-a nisi stavio da je 4 reda: Soldered-LCD-Library/examples/Hello_World_20x4/Hello_World_20x4.ino at 481a92e907361ac8e543360a94a648f6689c0b3c · SolderedElectronics/Soldered-LCD-Library · GitHub

Customer:

I found another library on your site: Soldered-16x2-LCD-Arduino-Library-main.zip

Now I see there’s another library too.

But now I see I have a new problem. I solve one, another appears.

Until now I used GitHub - forntoh/LcdMenu: Display navigable menu items on your LCD display 📟 with Arduino · GitHub to create menus, and I tested that on a different I2C LCD adapter that has a different chip from yours, and everything worked fine.

Now that I’ve switched to your I2C LCD adapter, the program won’t compile.

Users/tlevakov/Documents/Arduino/libraries/LcdMenu/src/LcdMenu.h:29:31:
fatal error: LiquidCrystal_I2C.h: No such file or directory

That LcdMenu appears to be tied exclusively to that library.

Do you have another library for menus or some other suggestion?

Original message (Croatian)

Hvala na odgovoru.

Na Vasoj stranici sam nasao ovaj library

Soldered-16x2-LCD-Arduino-Library-main.zip

Do sada sam koristio GitHub - forntoh/LcdMenu: Display navigable menu items on your LCD display 📟 with Arduino · GitHub za izradu

kompajlirati.

Users/tlevakov/Documents/Arduino/libraries/LcdMenu/src/LcdMenu.h:29:31:

fatal error: LiquidCrystal_I2C.h: No such file or directory

Hvala !

Soldered Support:

Good that it’s working. I’ve sent a request to have the old library removed to avoid confusion. That LCD menu library would need to be modified to work with our library. Unfortunately we can’t do that through support because it’s third-party software, but I’m sure it shouldn’t be too challenging.

There’s no other menu library. Also, I’m sure you can implement a menu without a library if it’s simple enough.

Customer:

I’ll try to adapt LCDMenu.

But I see there are several LiquidCrystal_I2C libraries.

And I see in your Soldered LCD library you also use some LiquidCrystal_I2C library.

Which exact one did you use to develop your breakout?

The second one is used by LCDMenu.

Original message (Croatian)

GitHub - mathertel/LiquidCrystal_PCF8574: A library for driving LiquidCrystal displays (LCD) by using the I2C bus and an PCF8574 I2C adapter. · GitHub GitHub - johnrickman/LiquidCrystal_I2C: LiquidCrystal Arduino library for the DFRobot I2C LCD displays · GitHub Ovaj drugi koristi LCDMenu. Glad to hear it, that was quick to resolve

We used LiquidCrystal_I2C (the second one you linked), just an adapted version for our I2C LCD breakout.

Original message (Croatian)
