Customer:
I’m interested in the Inkplate 10. I have several questions:
- Can units be removed from the case if ordered?
- How many shades of grey does it support?
- Is it possible to add additional sensors to the ESP32 driver, or is the board’s capability already maxed out driving the screen?

Sure, the case is easily opened - you can remove the Inkplate and simply snap the case back together to keep for later if needed.
Inkplates support 8 different gray levels in 3-bit mode. If you’re displaying images, 3-bit grayscale mode along with built-in image dithering works great. You’ll be able to see this on the demo slideshow which comes pre-programmed on your Inkplate 10.
You can add new sensors. Inkplate has a Qwiic/easyC connector for all compatible sensors, plus some GPIO available and SPI. The Inkplate library uses some of the ESP32’s memory, but while the display is not updating you can do whatever else you normally could on an ESP32.
