Customer:
I’m using an Inkplate 10 and would like to know if the current hardware configuration allows for implementing a charging cutoff at a specific voltage. I’d like to lower the maximum charged voltage by 0.1 or 0.2 to increase battery longevity. The tradeoff of more battery longevity at the expense of capacity would be worth it in my use case.

Inkplate 10 uses the MCP73831T charger. You can find the datasheet here: https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/MCP73831T.pdf
And here’s the Inkplate 10 schematic: Soldered-Inkplate-10-hardware-design/OUTPUTS/V1.3.1/Soldered Inkplate 10 Schematics.pdf at main · SolderedElectronics/Soldered-Inkplate-10-hardware-design · GitHub
From the datasheet, the maximum charge voltage is factory-set in the MCP73831T, so unfortunately it’s not possible to change it via the IC. It’s not as simple as connecting one of the IC’s pins to ground.
You may try other electronics workarounds, but we can’t officially recommend any as this part of Inkplate is quite sensitive. Messing with it too much can damage key components like the power on circuit and e-paper power supply chip.
