Inkplate 10 display showing dark low-contrast white areas

Customer:

I have an Inkplate 10 that shows a very dark low-contrast display of the sample picture, even after it is redrawn at startup. The black letters are good and the display is uniform, but the white background is much darker than expected and very hard to see compared to the product photos. Is there a way to improve this?

Some e-paper displays naturally have a darker screen. There is a function in software to address this. You can read more about this issue and find a fix for the dark screen at https://forum.e-radionica.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=407&p=810&hilit=dark#p810

I’m happy to report that I did not need to change the voltage. The off-white background became more white after I tried some of the examples and ran the Inkplate_RTC_Basic_Example for a while. It seems it just needed several refresh cycles.

Soldered Support:

Yes, if you use partial update you must use full refresh after a few partial refreshes. Also if you have again problem with the dark screen, try to use lighter mode as mentioned earlier.
