Do you have a working example in the Arduino or ESP IDE environment where I can download a PNG image to the Inkplate 10 and display it?

Check out the showPicturesFromWeb example from the Arduino library: Inkplate-Arduino-library/examples/Inkplate10/Advanced/WEB_WiFi/Inkplate10_Show_Pictures_From_Web/Inkplate10_Show_Pictures_From_Web.ino at 2dd263f2f9548aadac8638413a143beddf068a64 · SolderedElectronics/Inkplate-Arduino-library · GitHub
Line 58 contains code that draws an image from a URL. You can draw PNGs the same way as .bmp files - just replace the URL with a URL pointing to a .png picture.
In the sketch you’ll need to add your WiFi SSID and password to connect to the internet. The rest of the sketch demonstrates downloading and opening images in different ways using HTTPclient, but you can start with the first method in the link.
