Customer:
I need help choosing an e-ink display from your range. I’m looking for a black and white screen that can display a photograph gradually appearing from white to the final image. Specifically, I need a screen that can refresh without black and white flickering, at least at some point. The larger the screen and the higher the resolution, the better.

You can use Inkplate 6 or Inkplate 10 (the largest we currently have, 1200x825) in Black and white mode partial update. The image you display needs to be converted to jpg size 1200x825. Create for example 10 copies of the image, edit each one to be slightly brighter - the 10th image is pure white. Here’s how to display an image from microSD card on Inkplate 10: Inkplate 10 – Image from microSD | Soldered Documentation
With this code you can call drawing of the image from the brightest to the normal using partialUpdate for display to avoid full flickering. This should work.

zanimljiv projekt!
Black and white mode partial update
Zvuči li to OK? Definitivno je moguće.
Customer:
I found this note on the documentation page: “Partial updates are also supported in grayscale (3-bit) mode, but they are significantly faster and more effective in black-and-white mode. In grayscale mode, their primary benefit is reducing full-screen flickering.” at Inkplate 10 – Partial update | Soldered Documentation
However when I try it, only a white screen appears and from other sources on the internet I find that partial update for 3-bit mode is not possible, so I’m wondering if this feature exists or not.

imam jedno dodatno pitanje, na stranici sam našao ovu napomenu:
Partial updates are also supported in grayscale (3-bit) mode, but they are significantly faster and more effective in black-and-white mode. In grayscale mode, their primary benefit is reducing full-screen flickering.
Inkplate 10 – Partial update | Soldered Documentation
Hvala!
Soldered Support:
I checked with the team and unfortunately the documentation is inaccurate. We do not have partial update support for 3-bit mode. Only on Inkplate 6MOTION is that possible. Only 1-bit partial update is supported on Inkplate 10.
