I’ve tried to fit the “Inkplate 10 3D model.step” into the “Inkplate10_Case_V1.6.step” both downloaded from GitHub - SolderedElectronics/Inkplate-10-hardware: Open Source Hardware (OSH) files for e-paper display Inkplate 10. · GitHub. The connectors and mounting holes align, but the PCB doesn’t fit the case correctly. See attached picture. Will the Inkplate 10 PCB have rounded corners, or is the Inkplate10_Case_V1.6.step an obsolete design?

Soldered Support:
Your PCB will fit in the Inkplate10 case. In production, we add additional PCB rails to the PCB for the production line. The Inkplate 10 board is larger by 6 millimeters on both sides - these 6 millimeters are PCB rails. The rails were not removed when exporting the STEP file for the Inkplate10 board. We will upload a new file with the correct board dimensions.
Customer:
Could you please send me the correct STEP file of the PCB including the STEP for the actual E-Ink Panel? This is missing in the current STEP. I need to design a housing.
Soldered Support:
A new file has been uploaded to GitHub. We only have a 3D model for the Inkplate PCB but don’t have a 3D model for the e-paper panel. You can measure the e-paper panel and create your own 3D model.
Customer:
Which types of e-paper panels are compatible with the Inkplate base PCB? I suppose there is one specific type of controller which can be used with different panels?
Soldered Support:
We tested every Inkplate only on one e-paper panel. Every panel has a different type of connector (different number of contacts). Also, every panel has a different waveform and we make code for one panel that we use. If you use another panel maybe it will work, but we can’t guarantee it will work.
Customer:
I demonstrated the Inkplate 6 to customers. Could you please supply the STEP file of the Inkplate 6 board as well? We couldn’t find it online.
Soldered Support:
A STEP file for the Inkplate 6 board is available.

There seems to be an LED as a charge indicator. My Inkplate 6 does not light this LED. How do I determine if the battery is charging? Does the battery only charge if USB is connected, or does it charge from the power pads on the back as well?
Attachment omitted in migration: Inkplate6_v1_3D.step
Soldered Support:
To charge the battery, you must connect USB. The battery charger is only powered when USB is connected. When the battery is charging, the LED turns on.
