Customer:
I have purchased the Inkplate 10 with the goal of running the device for one year without recharging. I need to know how much power the Inkplate draws in active mode and in deep sleep mode. I’ve also noticed that a blue LED is running at all times. Will this increase power consumption, and is it possible to turn it off? Do you have any other suggestions for decreasing power consumption? I’m using a 605080 3.7V 3000 mAh battery.

Soldered Support:
You can check current usage in deep sleep on the docs: Inkplate Features Comparison | Soldered Documentation
The blue LED can be turned off via the power LED switch on the back. At this point, there’s not much you can do to lower the power usage other than waking up less frequently and doing as few things as possible with the ESP32 once the Inkplate does wake up.
If you have experience with electronics measurements, you can check the battery draw during deep sleep by connecting an ampermeter in series from the battery to the Inkplate. You can also use a larger battery of the same type and specs with the same connector (JST 2-pin) - just keep in mind the polarity when connecting.
