Inkplate 10 right side of screen stuck black after storage

Customer:

After taking my Inkplate 10 out of storage, 50% of the screen won’t update and just stays black. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Soldered Support:

Try re-seating the flat cable. Undo the latches which hold it down and unplug it, then plug it back in and close the latches firmly in place. Be careful not to crease the flat cable.

Then run the basic hello world example to see if it clears the screen.

I tried re-seating the cable but still no luck. The left side of the screen allows me to change the display, but the right side is stuck on the “Welcome to Inkplate” screen.

This issue is commonly due to a hardware fault on the panel or its controller. Check for any visible cracks on the flat cable or on the panel itself.

Also try uploading a basic grayscale sketch to the Inkplate to see if it refreshes. You can run this example: Inkplate-Arduino-library/examples/Inkplate10/Basic/Inkplate10_Grayscale at master · SolderedElectronics/Inkplate-Arduino-library · GitHub
