Inkplate 10 screen doesn't update after code upload

Customer:

I uploaded different examples through Arduino IDE, but the screen doesn’t change. I tried uploading the Inkplate_basic_bw example without modifying the code. After upload completed, I saw “Leaving… Hard resetting via rts pin”. When I switched the board off and back on, nothing happened. I also tried pressing the reset button at the back, but the screen still didn’t update.

I want to use it as a picture frame with the SD card. I see there’s an example for showing pictures from SD card, but I’m not sure what changes are needed. Is there code for simply showing a picture from an SD card every hour?

Soldered Support:

Have you installed the newest library and the newest board definition? You need to select “Soldered Inkplate10” if you have the newest version of the Inkplate, otherwise “e-radionica Inkplate10”.

The “Leaving… Hard resetting…” message is normal when upload ends.

For showing images periodically, we have Image_Frame_From_SD in our projects folder. Copy your images to the SD card and specify the folder, or simply create an “images” folder on your SD card (this is the default name). Define the time interval - in your case 60 * 60 for one hour. This code will show images every hour and go to deep sleep while waiting. The code has many comments, so if you read carefully it should be clear what needs to change.

Customer:

Board and libraries are all installed correctly, as are the drivers. I tried Image_Frame_From_SD from the projects folder. Upload went well, but when I switched the Inkplate off and back on, nothing happened - I still see the original picture from your company. I created a folder called ‘images’ on the SD card and didn’t change the code path at all.

I also tried the Inkplate10_SD_Pictures example without changing anything, just saving the example pictures directly on the SD card without using a folder, but again no response.

Unless I need to do something extra after upload besides turning the Inkplate off and on, I don’t think I did anything wrong.

You have an older board definition. Please use this link to download the newest one:

You should have “Soldered Inkplate10” (not “Inkplate 10 ESP32” as you currently have). Select this new Soldered Inkplate10 and the screen should work.
