Inkplate 2 board not appearing in Arduino IDE Board Manager

Customer:

I received my Inkplate 2 and followed the instructions via the QR code, but I cannot find the board in the Boards Manager even though I followed the steps: copying and pasting the GitHub text for Arduino and downloading the drivers. The board still does not appear under the Boards Manager. What am I missing?

Soldered Support:

You need to install the board definition to the Arduino IDE. Copy this link (https://github.com/SolderedElectronics/Dasduino-Board-Definitions-for-Arduino-IDE/raw/master/package_Dasduino_Boards_index.json) into Arduino → File → Preferences. Then go to Tools → Board → Board Manager, type Inkplate, and download the Inkplate board definitions.

Thank you, it worked perfectly. How long should I charge the battery connected to the Inkplate 2?

Customer:

My mistake was copying and pasting the contents instead of the link itself into the URL manager, but after that everything worked. I looked at my Inkplate today and saw a small rectangular faint gray outline on the screen. I dropped it earlier from my desk from about 4 feet in height. Could this have caused it? Also, how long should I charge the battery inside the case?

Soldered Support:

Charging time is up to 2.5 hours to fully charge, with a maximum of 3 hours. A gray outline is the border of the screen and is normal, but a vertical line can be caused by a fall.
