Inkplate 2 display stops updating after 3 months

Customer:

I built a project with Inkplate 2 to render text to the screen every 5 minutes and it worked well. Now after 3 months the display does not update anymore. I haven’t changed the code, but the commands to update the display are silently ignored and the old content keeps showing. I tried reseating the ribbon cable and running the basic example programs, but the screen seems dead. Is this normal after 3 months of use?

Soldered Support:

Does your Inkplate 2 have a battery? Sometimes what helps is a complete and total reset: unsolder the battery and unplug from USB, remove the flat cable connector, then reconnect the flat cable and only connect USB-C (no battery yet). We’ve had some issues with Inkplate 2 panels being stuck and not waking up when prompted by the ESP32. Try this total reset and resolder the battery afterwards.
