Customer:
I was loading the clock demo code onto an Inkplate 2 and it was working well. However, the device was accidentally removed from power while refreshing the screen. Now the screen won’t update. Is there a way to reset the screen or get it to start updating again?

Try two things:
-
Update your Inkplate library to the latest version and load the Black-White-Red example. The library was recently updated with improvements to how the display re-initializes, which may resolve your issue. If that doesn’t work, reconnect the flat cable connecting the ePaper display to the main board. The flat cable is delicate, so be careful to avoid damage.
Here’s how to reconnect it:
- Disconnect Inkplate 2 completely from power or USB
- Dethatch the flat cable holder by gently pulling on the catch/release mechanism in the noted direction
- Take the flat cable out, keeping in mind to bend it as little as possible
- Connect it back together and secure with the mechanism, making sure the connection is solid
- Upload the Inkplate2_Black_White_Red example, which should always refresh the display
