Customer:
The screen appears defective. I haven’t made any special changes and want to understand why it’s showing a phantom and blurry image.

Soldered Support:
Could you run the basic>Black_white_red example and see if the image is OK? If the image is still not OK, let me know. This could potentially mean the panel is defective.
Customer:
I found an equivalent in micropython to avoid reflashing into raw C: SolderedElectronics/Inkplate-micropython/Examples/Inkplate2/basic.py. It refreshed successfully, and after that I could get a good screen for Calendar. I’m not sure what happened or if this issue will occur again. With the phantom issues on Calendar, I had this happen 10-12 times.
Soldered Support:
The ePaper may have been left in a weird state and running the microPython library was able to fully reset it. We’ve worked on the Inkplate2 library for a while and made improvements along the way, and we have never encountered a display which acts like this. If it happens again, please let me know.
