Customer:
I received 2 Inkplate 2 boards and tried some examples on one, including the world clock example. After this, the screen has stopped updating completely. I can download new code to the board and the serial monitor responds as expected, but the screen never updates—even simple text display examples don’t work. The other Inkplate 2 I received works as expected with the same example, same laptop, and same USB cable. The ribbon cable appears to be correctly seated on the board. How can I fix the display?

Soldered Support:
Update your Inkplate library to the latest version and load the Black-White-Red example. The library was recently updated with improvements to how the Inkplate 2 display re-initializes, which may resolve your issue. If that doesn’t work, try re-connecting the flat cable that connects the ePaper display to the main board. This has sometimes resolved this issue.
Procedure:
- Disconnect Inkplate 2 completely from power or USB.
- Dethatch the flat cable holder by gently pulling on the catch/release mechanism in the noted direction.
- Take the flat cable out, keeping in mind to bend it as little as possible.
- Connect it back together and secure with the mechanism. Make sure the connection is solid.
- Upload the Inkplate2_Black_White_Red example, which should always refresh the display.
