Inkplate 5 v2 battery installation and compatibility

Customer:

I received an Inkplate 5 v2 without the battery option. The enclosure appears to have space for a battery, so I’d like to install one myself. Can I simply connect a battery to the charger port on the board?

I have a LiPo 3.7V 1200mAh battery available. Will this work with the board and enclosure? The dimensions appear to fit.

For installing a battery in Inkplate, connect it to the battery port as described in the hardware reference guide: Inkplate Hardware Reference — Inkplate docs documentation

Yes, you can connect it to the port and it will automatically charge when connected via USB. A 3.7V LiPo battery is the correct type for Inkplate.
