Inkplate 5 v2 blue LED control and display artifact after 30 refreshes

Customer:

I just received an Inkplate 5 v2 full bundle and I’m happy with it. I have a question about the blue indicator LED which is on whenever the board/battery is powered up. Is there a way to control the LED? I’d like to turn it off when the board is in deep sleep. It’s probably not drawing many milliamps, but still probably considerable compared to deep sleep draw microamps by the board.

Also there’s an artifact on the display. It appeared on the screen after about 30 full refreshes during my development. Here is a video about it, while I am doing the burn in clean from your examples: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ya4ErbrHn1pn7pDb9

Any idea what to do about the artifact?

Soldered Support:

You can turn off the LED permanently via the power LED switch on the back. This way you can get minimum current during deep sleep.

Also before going to deep sleep call display.sdCardSleep(); which will make sure the SD card is powered off.

The artifact on the screen is unfortunately a damaged panel. This must have happened in shipping as we have strict panel control before Inkplates leave our manufacturing. A replacement base Inkplate 5 v2 can be sent to you so you can put it in your existing case and upload your code.
