Inkplate 6 e-ink display stuck to PCB with double-sided tape

Customer:

I cracked the display on my Inkplate 6 and want to replace it with a display from an old Amazon Kindle. I’ve disassembled everything but can’t get the e-ink display to detach from the PCB - it appears to be stuck down with very strong double-sided tape. Does anyone have tricks or suggestions for removing it?

Soldered Support:

The Inkplate uses double-sided tape to attach the panel to the PCB. You can try using isopropyl alcohol to remove the broken panel. Put the Inkplate board (disconnected from battery or USB) in a box with alcohol and it should help loosen the adhesive.

If you need to buy a replacement panel, the part number for the Inkplate 6 panel is ED060SC7.
