Inkplate 6 Fast Refresh Time: how much of the display can be redrawn

Customer:

What is the definition of “Fast Refresh Time”? For example, the Inkplate 6 has an 800x600 display and the “Fast Refresh Time” is quoted as 0.26 sec. How much of the 800x600 display can be redrawn in 0.26 sec?

The whole display can be changed in approximately 0.26s. It’s possible to change the whole screen with fast update, which in code is called partial update. It’s called partial because it changes only the pixels which need changing, but of course that can be the whole screen. So you are not limited to a smaller area when using it.

Be mindful when using it: make sure to do a full update each 10 to 15 partial updates to retain picture quality. Sometimes you can increase this number to retain picture quality, depending on your sketch. Feel free to experiment.
