Inkplate 6 MicroPython SD card error on startup

Customer:

I’ve been using Inkplate 6 with Arduino for a while and it works well. Now I’m working with MicroPython and having trouble compiling even simple examples. I followed the guide to flash MicroPython version 1.18 (now using 1.22) and copied files to the unit including main.py with example code. When compiling, I get an “Sd card could not be read” error. I don’t think I need an SD card since the code is written to the ESP32, but I formatted a 256 MB FAT partition card anyway with no success. Have I made a mistake somewhere?

Soldered Support:

We officially support Arduino mainly, but have adapted the MicroPython library from a contribution. First, which version of Inkplate 6 do you have - the current Soldered Inkplate 6 or an older model? For the current Soldered Inkplate 6, use the soldered_inkplate6.py driver and copy PCAL6146A.py. If that doesn’t help, try the dev branch of the MicroPython repository - this sounds like an issue I’ve been working on for another user. The MicroPython library isn’t prioritized as highly as the Arduino library, which is why it’s in this state. Please let me know the results and your board version so I can help further.

It works now! I used soldered_inkplate6.py instead and updated the example code. Thank you for the help.
