Inkplate 6 MOTION programming with STM32CubeIDE

Customer:

Can the Inkplate 6 MOTION be programmed with STM32CubeIDE? I understand I would have to provide all my own C/C++ code.

If yes, is the board programmed through the debug interface (JTAG and SWD) or the bootloader interface (UART and USB)?

Soldered Support:

Yes, you can program it with STM32CubeIDE, however you would have to rewrite the whole library and configuration, as most of its features rely on the Arduino framework.

The 6MOTION comes with the STM32H743ZIT6 MCU as well as an ESP32-C3 coprocessor, which is used as a WiFi controller. The ESP32-C3 comes preprogrammed; you just need to implement the AT commands between the STM32 and it.

You can find some of the configuration settings used for the STM32 in the board definition files. You can also use the Arduino library as reference.

The Inkplate 6MOTION can be programmed using the SWD interface as well as UART or the USB-C port (which has a USB-UART converter).
