Inkplate 6 PLUS display and frontlight not updating after flashing

Customer:

I successfully compiled and flashed an empty Arduino sketch to my new Inkplate 6 Plus. I can now flash example sketches successfully, but the e-ink display does not update. I tried the Inkplate6PLUS_Simple_Frontlight sketch. I can communicate with the board over Serial, but neither the display nor the frontlight show any signs of life. I see references to EEPROM in the documentation. Is it possible I overwrote some critical calibration or config data?

Soldered Support:

Try switching the board definitions between Soldered Inkplate 6PLUS and e-Radionica Inkplate 6PLUS. These are the two versions of this board, and the correct board definition must be used for the display to update. Use the other board definition than the one you’re currently using and try uploading an example again.

Customer:

Switching to the e-radionica board definition worked! However, I’m confused because my board says “Soldered” all over it - on the box, PCB, and even the image that came on the display. There’s no mention of e-Radionica. I thought e-Radionica was the older version?

Soldered Support:

Some models were produced during the transition when our team switched to using a different GPIO expander. The driver differs in key parts. We opted to use the same library but the driver code is different, and the board definition changes it. The documentation is being improved to clarify this and provide better F.A.Q. information.
