Customer:

I connected a LiPo battery to my Inkplate 6 the wrong way round. Is it repairable, and which components might need replacement?

Soldered Support:

To determine what was damaged, use a multimeter to check for shorts:

  1. Check continuity between BAT and GND pins. If there is a short, the battery charger is destroyed.
  2. Check continuity between VIN and GND pins. If there is a short, the voltage regulator is destroyed.
  3. Check continuity between 3V3 and GND pins. If there is a short, the voltage regulator is destroyed.

If you find no shorts on any of these pin pairs, try connecting USB and measure the voltage on the 3V3 pins. Once you have completed these checks and identified any shorts, let us know and we can provide part numbers for the components that need replacement.
