I received the board and can upload code via Arduino IDE, but the screen is not displaying anything. I believe the unit may be defective. I removed the blue cover from the ribbon cable and verified it was connected. The pins look fine to me.

What board definition are you using? The Inkplate 6 has an older version called the e-radionica Inkplate 6 (with a blue PCB) and the Soldered Inkplate 6 with a purple one. The board selected in the Arduino IDE should match the one you have. This is documented in the following link: Inkplate 6 - Quick start guide | Soldered Documentation.
If the panel doesn’t refresh with the correct board definition and running a basic example, then we can start with the replacement process.
