Customer:
We are developing an environmental data monitoring system with a portable battery-powered unit. We need a 6" e-paper display with touch panel and front light to show oxygen and gas concentrations, temperature, and similar data.
We previously used an e-paper display that got damaged and can no longer display all white, which raises concerns about durability. We have several questions:
- Can the display handle refreshing every 4 seconds? How many years of endurance can we expect, even with partial updates?
- Can we use STM32 to drive this display?
- Is there a video demonstrating the display’s speed and quality?

Soldered Support:
Inkplate 6PLUS can refresh every 1-2 seconds, and with partial update it can refresh in 0.5 seconds. You can use any MCU to control it by using Peripheral Mode.

I have follow-up questions:
- Is it possible to buy only the display without the PCB? We need to create a custom PCB to drive the display.
- Peripheral mode uses UART at 115200 baud, which seems slow for driving a 1024x758 pixel display. Is there a faster method?
Soldered Support:
We don’t sell displays separately from the PCB, but the display part number is ED060XH7. When using Peripheral Mode, you don’t send pixels one by one - you send commands instead. For example, to load an image, you can place it on an SD card and then use Peripheral Mode to load it onto the screen.
