Customer:

The product description indicates the device can only operate with a USB cable. Does this USB connection serve only for power supply, or are other components of the device dependent on it?

It’s clear that programming happens through a USB connection. My question concerns only the basic operation of the Inkplate 6Plus.

I’m also interested in whether the device has internal voltage regulation (a schematic would be great), and whether it can be powered externally with a regulated power supply or a battery via USB.

der Produktbeschreibung ist zu entnehmen, dass ein Betrieb des Geräts nur mit einem USB-Kabel möglich ist.

Dient dieser USB-Kontakt nur der Stromversorgung oder sind noch andere Komponenten des Geräts davon abhängig ?

Klar ist, dass die Programmierung über ein USB-Anschluß erfolgt. Meine Frage betrifft nur das simple Betreiben des Inkplate 6Plus.

Interessiern würde mich noch, ob das Gerät eine interne Spannungregelung hat (Schaltplan wäre Klasse), eine extern geregelte Stromversorgung auch mit einem Akku via USB erfolgen kann.

The device can also send and receive serial communication over the USB cable (for the Arduino Serial Monitor). You don’t need to use this if you don’t want to. An externally regulated power supply can be used when you power the device through the USB connection, such as a power bank. This provides the same functionality as operating it with a battery (which USB-powered devices do not support). I hope this information is helpful!

Das Gerät kann auch über das USB-Kabel serielle Kommunikation senden und empfangen (für den Arduino Serial Monitor). Sie müssen das nicht nutzen, wenn Sie nicht möchten. Eine extern geregelte Stromversorgung kann verwendet werden, wenn sie das Gerät über den USB-Anschluss versorgt, wie zum Beispiel eine Powerbank. Das entspricht der gleichen Funktionalität, als würde man es über eine Batterie betreiben (was die USB-Strom-Geräte nicht unterstützen). Ich hoffe, diese Informationen sind nützlich!
