Customer:
We’re looking for a low-power on-battery screen that can refresh on-demand with custom display content. We’d prefer to use LoRaWan technology for display transfer since we already use it for other devices and could reuse the same gateway. Alternatively, we could install a 4G router to provide WiFi. We’re planning 8-10 refreshes during working days and need at least 6 months of autonomy. Does Inkplate fit these requirements?

Soldered Support:
Inkplate uses an ESP32 microcontroller and communicates via WiFi. If you need LoRa, you can add a LoRa module to it.
Inkplate consumes 25uA in deep sleep. Consumption during display refresh and WiFi use depends on your specific use case, including distance to the router, the size of the file being downloaded, and other parameters. We recommend measuring consumption in your actual deployment scenario to choose an appropriately sized battery. For reference, consumption in working mode is approximately 400-500mA, but this varies based on the parameters mentioned.
