Inkplate sleep mode wake behavior and WiFi data capture workflow

Customer:

How does Inkplate sleep mode work? When the device enters sleep mode, how does it know when to wake up? Is there a clock running? Does it monitor the touch pads?

I want to connect to a WiFi dongle, capture information normally sent to a phone app, display some portion of the data and the time of day, then enter sleep mode for a minute before refreshing.

Soldered Support:

The Inkplate has an ESP32 on board that controls everything. Deep sleep is a feature of the ESP32 itself. You can search for ESP32 deep sleep documentation to learn how it works.

You can also refer to the ESP32 documentation directly. Our unofficial library includes many detailed explained examples that you can learn from. Make sure you copy the library folder into your Arduino libraries folder.
