I was working on new lessons with NULA and found that the LCDs don’t work with the Nova, although they worked fine with 5V devices like an Uno. Did you test your LCDs with the Nova? Could the I2C to LCD adapter be a solution? Even with a 5V power supply on the LCD, it was not working with 3.3V signals from the Nova. When we ordered, voltage compatibility wasn’t something we considered carefully. Could you either confirm the I2C adapter solves this, or if not, could you change our LCDs to 3.3V-compatible types?
