Matrix Keyboard 4x3 connection to Raspberry Pi Pico

Customer:

I have purchased a Matrix keyboard 3×4 (SKU: 108746) and I am wondering how to connect it to my Raspberry Pi Pico. I can see there are 9 holes below the keypad but I can’t find any information regarding which ones mean what. Am I supposed to place the holes on top of headers on a breadboard to connect it, similar to the 16×2 LCD display that comes with headers for its pins? The keypad doesn’t come with those headers.

Here’s a tutorial that covers the Raspberry Pi Pico and explains the working principle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-PoXmxeCmQ

This keypad is a generic component. It doesn’t come with headers, so you’ll have to wire it yourself via some extra header pins inserted into the connector. You can also use M-M header pin cables to connect to a microcontroller.
