Mounting Inkplate 5 in a server rack patch panel

Customer:

I’m building a kit for a broadcast setup that will be mounted in a server rack, similar to patch panels with Neutrik D-series connectors. I want to integrate Inkplate 5 so it can display remotely updated information on the back panel. We typically laser cut sheet metal blanks to fit our components. Can you help me mount the Inkplate 5 in a similar way? Could the 3D printed cases be modified for this purpose?

Soldered Support:

The Inkplate 5V2 3D printable case is available as .STL files in the repository. The case can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

Mounting specifications:

  • Horizontal orientation: mounting slots are 45mm apart
  • Vertical orientation: mounting slots are 30mm apart
  • Slot depth: approximately 3mm

Use screws with thinner heads so they fit snugly inside the slots.

The case has a space on the back designed to hang by a screw head or nail. You can fully modify the .STL file to create a custom mounting solution tailored to your specific rack requirements.
