Customer:
I’m working on a smart mailbox project for university with a colleague. I have several questions about the project and would appreciate your help.

The obstacle sensor can run on 3.3V - simply connect it to any GPIO pin on the Node and adjust the potentiometers as needed. Regarding the battery, do you have a datasheet for version 1? I’m unable to find one online.

Customer:
For the obstacle sensor, I got the answer. For the battery: the NodeMCU has no connector or charging circuit. We recommend a battery, a holder for it, and a charger for it. With those three components you can create an independent power circuit. Do you need help with sending sensor information to the internet?

Customer:
Connect the battery to 5V and GND, not to 3.3V.
Original message (Croatian)
Bateriju ćete spojiti na 5V i gnd, nikako na 3.3V

Thanks for all the answers. The battery will work out - I mainly wanted to know if it could function that way, and it clearly can, which is great if we decide to go with it. Now, another thing: the sensor. Its default state is LOW when there’s no obstacle, right? Only when the IR beam is broken and something reflects it, does it go HIGH and send that information to the microcontroller?

Don’t let us give you all the answers - try connecting the obstacle sensor and see what it outputs! You can do it in a few steps. You can easily invert the information in code, whether it’s HIGH or LOW. I was going to suggest data.sparkfun.com, at least for testing. I’m not sure how much freedom you have for the final work. I’m sure you can find examples online for creating a simple database where you can insert information from the board.

To ćete u par koraka odraditi!
Informaciju ćete lako obrnuti u kodu, sad bilo to HIGH ili LOW.
