Pressure Sensor switch for closing circuits with low current

Customer:

Can the pressure sensor be used to close a circuit? The current would be very little.

Yes, you can. You’ll need to use a microcontroller (such as Arduino or Croduino) in between with a relay or MOSFET to trigger the connection. Basically, you need an op-amp connected to the pressure sensor which sends pressure info to the Arduino. Arduino code then checks the pressure and activates/deactivates the relay or MOSFET.

If you need a simpler pressure sensor, consider BMP180 - available on our sites too. It’s much easier to use with Arduino and doesn’t require a separate microcontroller.
