Customer:
I have several S1 protection modules but cannot get them to work. When I connect the battery to the circuit, I don’t get voltage on the output side. The circuit starts working only when I temporarily short ground between the battery and protected side, and it continues working even after I disconnect the short.

Soldered Support:
When you connect the battery, protection is active, so you don’t get voltage at the output. You need to start charging the battery by connecting voltage to the input. This will deactivate the protection and you’ll get voltage on the output. This is the normal behavior of this circuit.
Soldered Support:
The S1 module provides both overcharging and over-discharging protection. It protects the battery from undervoltage, overvoltage, and short circuit current.
