Soldered Support:
The sensor needs to be powered on VCC and GND pins with 3V to 5V. You can then read the D0 pin - when fire/heat is detected it outputs VCC, when not detected it outputs 0V. Sensitivity can be adjusted with the potentiometer using a small screwdriver. Before use, you need to adjust this potentiometer so the sensor works as expected.

I’m having trouble adjusting the sensor with the potentiometer. I’ve been using a multimeter to check. When the sensor detects no heat or fire, the voltage between D0 and GND is approximately zero, which is correct. However, when the sensor is activated, the voltage is around 1 and something, which is too low compared to the voltages in your instructions. I tried to increase it with the potentiometer, but the voltage cannot be increased - it stays the same as before. Other fire sensors have a different problem: either they work constantly or they don’t work at all after adjustment. The sensor activates when an object approaches the potentiometer screw, not the sensor itself.
Imam problem s podešavanjem senzora pomoću potenciometra. Pritom sam koristio multimetar.

What voltage do you have on VCC? What does the A0 pin output?
Note that the potentiometer can be turned quite a bit, so rotate it until you reach some limit, but carefully so you don’t exceed the limit as that can break the potentiometer. You may not have adjusted it to a level where it works well yet.
The false activation when the potentiometer screw is approached is expected due to electrostatic noise from the human hand. It’s normal for the potentiometer not to be touched during regular sensor operation - just point the LED at the heat source. I used a lighter for testing this.
