Using .NET nanoFramework with Inkplate 6

Customer:

I’ve recently received an Inkplate 6 and was exploring how to use it. I discovered .NET nanoFramework, a third-party project that joined the .NET Foundation using a subset of the .NET framework for smaller platforms and IoT. The ESP32 WROVER is supported out of the box, and Inkplate 6 uses an ESP32 WROVER. Have you experimented with .NET nanoFramework on Inkplate 6? Is there a tutorial for getting started? If not, would it be easy or possible to use it on the Inkplate? Could I brick the board? What would happen if I flashed the nanoFramework image onto it? I’m willing to try making it work and contribute my findings.

Soldered Support:

I haven’t heard of .NET support for ESP32 and don’t have knowledge of it. It would be quite hard to brick the board since you can always fully erase all memories in the ESP32 and start over. The main challenge would be transferring all the low-level code for driving the Inkplate to the new language, which requires time and experience. Beyond that, I see no issues. If you manage to get anything working, let me know.
