I purchased an Atmega328p microcontroller board with LoRa transceiver and a Connect programmer a few weeks ago. I installed the Croudino board definitions for Arduino and tried to upload empty code. Every time I got the message “programmer is not responding” or “not in sync”. I checked the soldered wire connections and the USB cable. Could I have selected the wrong board definition in Arduino IDE? Do I need to upload firmware to the microcontroller? Could it be a software problem?

Dobar dan,
Prije par tjedana sam kupio vaš Atmega328p mikrokontrolerska pločicu s lora primopredajnikom i Connect programer. Instalirao sam Croudino board definitions for arduino, i probao sam uploadati prazni code. Svaki put sam dobio poruku “programmer is not responding” ili “not in sync”. Provjerio sam konekciju zalemljenih žica, i usb kabla. Da li sam odabrao dorbi Board definition u Arduino IDE-u? Da li treba uploadati firmware na taj mikrokontroler? Možda je to software problem?

You cannot use the Connect programmer. You need a USB-UART converter instead.

I connected all the cables correctly, but I still get the same two errors. When I open Serial Monitor I see “Krenio” and “Starting”, then after a few minutes it stops.

spojio sam sve kable točno, ali i dalje dobivam ista dva errora. Kada otvorim Serial Monitor vidim da piše “Krenio” i “Starting”, nakon nekoliko minuta prestane.

You have not connected one more pin. I am sending you a picture showing how I connected it. The USB-UART has male headers which can then be inserted into the LoRa board. You need to connect all pins in order as shown in the picture (6 pins).

niste spojili još jedan pin, šaljem Vam sliku kako sam ja spojio. Na USB-UART-u se nalaze muški headeri te se onda taj header može ubosti u LoRa pločicu, odnosno, potrebno je spojiti sve pinove po redu kako je na slici (6 pinova).

I did not know that I needed to connect that pin on the LoRa module because it has no label. I connected all pins as shown in the picture, but I still get the same error.

Nisam znao da treba spojiti taj pin na lora moduelu jer nema nikakvu oznaku. Spojio sam sve pinove kako su na slici, ali i dalje dobivam isti error.

Try powering the LoRa from USB in case the USB-UART converter cannot provide enough power. Also, did you select the correct voltage level on the switch on the USB-UART converter?
If it still does not work, you can send both modules to us and we can test and confirm whether they work or not.

možete li probati napajati i LoRu preko USB u slučaju da USB UART converter ne može dati dovoljno snage. Također jeste li odabrali dobru naponsku razinu na prekidaču na USB UART converteru?
U slučaju da Vam opet ne radi, možete nama poslati oba modula pa da mi testiramo i potvrdio radi li ili ne.
