I need to clarify the part number for the CH340C. The part number is 101918.

The CH340C is a 16 pin package, the ‘C’ variant of the chip. According to the datasheet, it’s labeled as SOP-16. It’s possible that we have an error in our labeling of the specific packaging. Does SOP-16 fit your footprint needs?

I’m fine with it being SOP-16, but where did you get this information? When I click the datasheet link in the document at Access to this page has been denied. .pdf, I get another document, but it does not show the CH340C version. When you click the “datasheet” link in that document, it gives https://soldered.com/productdata/2020/02/Soldered_CH340_datasheet.pdf which again does not show the CH340C. If you could give me a link to a document with the correct information, I would appreciate it. I already made the board with a 20 pin footprint, but luckily only had 5 PCBs made.

I’ve checked the datasheet link and it seems to be incorrect as it doesn’t contain info on the CH340C version. You can find a datasheet which includes info for CH340C below. The package is SOP-16, not SSOP16. I’ve visually compared the two and it’s definitely the larger version (SOP-16).

I have one final question. In your previous message you sent a screenshot of the chip with pin 8 as (OUT#/DTR#) but in the datasheet you sent me, pin 8 is (NC). Which is correct? I want to make sure I get the part correct to make another board.
Soldered Support:
I can check our schematic from one of our products, Inkplate 5gen2. Based on our PCB screenshot (Reference dot is in the bottom right corner), pin 8 is NC. The datasheet I originally found to screenshot for you had the chip labeled exactly the same as CH340C so I wasn’t aware the pinout would be different. I apologize for that, and I appreciate your attention to detail to avoid a potential error.
