Croduino Basic upload fails with COM port access denied error

Customer:

I’m using a Croduino Basic in a project and almost every time I try to upload code I get the error: avrdude: ser_open(): can’t open device “\.\ COM5”: Access is denied. This doesn’t happen every time, but in 4 out of 5 cases.

Koristim Crouduino Basic u jednom projektu i skoro svaki put kad pokusavam uploadati kod mi se javlja error: avrdude: ser_open(): can’t open device “\.\COM5”: Access is denied. To se ne dogodi svaki put, ali u 4/5 slucajeva.

Which board are you selecting in the Arduino IDE under Tools - Boards? If you’re using Arduino Nano or similar, please try the following (assuming Windows OS):

  1. Click Start, type devmgmt.msc or simply Device Manager, then press Enter
  2. In the middle panel, expand Ports (COM & LPT), right-click on one of the listed ports and select Properties (note which COM port it shows, such as COM4 or another)
  3. Select the Port Settings tab and click Advanced
  4. Click the COM Port Number dropdown menu and select one of the available ports
  5. Disconnect the Croduino. Connect it again and set the selected port in Arduino IDE under Tools - Ports

koji Board u Arduino IDE-u (pod Tools - Boards) koristite? Ukoliko Arduino Nano ili slični molim pokušati kako slijedi: (uz pretpostavku da koristite Windows OS) Klik na Start - upišite devmgmt.msc ili jednostavno Device manager, zatim Enter. Odaberite karticu Port Settings i klik na Advanced Klik na padajući izbornik COM Port Number, odaberite neki od slobodnih portova Isključite Croduino. Spojite ga ponovno, te postavite odabrani port u Arduino IDE pod Tools - Ports

Customer:

I’m using Arduino Due or Diecimila in the Arduino IDE, and I tried the steps you mentioned but I’m still getting the same error. I tried with a different Arduino over the same USB port with the same code and it works fine.

U Arduino IDE koristim Arduino Due or Diecimila, a navedene korake sam pokusao i i dalje se javlja ista greska. Pokusao sam s kineskim Arduinom preko istog USB utora s istim kodom i sve je u redu

Soldered Support:

Please use Arduino Nano.
